About the Association of Military College and Military Schools of the United States (AMCSUS)

The Association of Military College and Military Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) is a non-profit organization focused on representing several member schools in multiple ways. Ranging from preparatory schools to full, four-year universities, member schools provide a diverse range of educational opportunities. However, the AMCSUS works to ensure consistency in core values and goals of member schools while serving as a central information site and representing member schools to external interests.

Military Colleges

The AMCSUS includes nine, four-year universities and five, two-year junior colleges. The schools are located in many different geographic areas and vary widely in areas like enrollment, curriculum and student body. However, each member school shares core values and goals, while remaining independently governed and managed. The full list of member schools is available on the AMCSUS web site.

Core values

Each military college member of the AMCSUS is committed to the same set of core values. Schools provide a strong education in a military environment, while focusing on strong values, leadership development, service to others and citizenship. Each school commits to treat each student as an individual, to develop close relationships between students and faculty, to promote self-discipline and spiritual growth and challenge each student.

External activities

In addition to activities focused on the individual student, the AMCSUS and member schools share information with each other and partner closely with external agencies, such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Education, as well as the public. The AMCSUS advocates for military colleges and advocates for adherence to high ethical, academic and military standards among member schools.

Military colleges provide a unique educational opportunity for many students. The AMCSUS strives to provide appropriate consistency among member schools, while each college retains individuality and strengths. By functioning as a central hub, the AMCSUS enables member schools to focus on those core values and goals inherent in a military college.
